I had the privilege of co-facilitating the WCO National Workshop on Data Analytics for Sri Lanka Customs, held in Colombo from 23 to 27 March 2026 under the BACUDA Project, with the support of CCF Korea.

The workshop aimed to strengthen Sri Lanka Customs’ capacity in data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and evidence-based decision-making through a combination of e-learning and hands-on practical sessions.

During the workshop, we covered:

  • AI and data analytics applications in Customs
  • Hands-on sessions with the WCO frau detection algorithm
  • Computer vision and AI use cases for border management
  • AI/ML readiness assessment and implementation planning
  • International best practices and knowledge exchange

The workshop provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate with Sri Lanka Customs in advancing its digital transformation and supporting the development of a sustainable, data-driven Customs administration.

The mission was organized under the WCO BACUDA Project with the generous support of the Customs Cooperation Fund (CCF) Korea.
