I was pleased to represent the World Customs Organization (WCO) at the International Seminar “The Trade Facilitation Agreement: Geopolitical Challenges, Digitalization, and Progress in Peru”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR) on 8 July 2026.
During the virtual presentation, I shared insights on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics in Customs risk management, highlighting WCO initiatives, practical use cases, and the importance of data-driven approaches in modern Customs operations.
The session explored how AI can support Customs administrations in identifying complex patterns from large datasets while maintaining the essential role of Customs experts in operational decision-making.
