Delivered 8th Masterclass in Korea

I had the opportunity to contribute as a resource person at the 8th UNNExT Masterclass on Electronic Single Windows and Data Analytics for Trade Compliance and Facilitation, held from 10 to 19 November 2025 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The programme was jointly organized by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP).

The Masterclass brought together 22 officials representing 17 countries from Customs administrations and trade ministries across the Asia–Pacific region.

During the Masterclass, I contribution focuses on:

• Introducing the fundamentals and organizational value of data analytics in Customs
• Demonstrating BACUDA-developed algorithms
• Delivering a session on my research: Using AI to Identify and Expedite Environmental Goods in Customs
• Sharing data analytics use cases from Nepal Customs
• Mentoring participants during the hands-on exercises on data preparation, data quality, and AI-enabled HS classification tools

It was inspiring to see the level of enthusiasm, collaboration, and dedication from all participants as they developed data-driven, technology-enabled policy proposals tailored to their national needs.

Grateful to WCO, UN ESCAP, and CCF-Korea for the opportunity to contribute—and to all participants for their active engagement throughout the programme.
